Computer Care - hardware:

  • What are biggest threats to hardware?
  • How can you prevent or address them?

Computer Care - software:

  • Plug ins - Adobe Acrobat, video/audio enhancers, WinZip
  • PM (preventative maintenance) - Windows Updates, Anti-virus, Adaware, Pop-Up blocker
  • Where's the best place to put the install program for a plug in? Can the install program be removed once the actual plug in is installed?
  • It's not enough just to have anti-virus software installed on your PC. What two other procedures must you do to make anti-virus effective?

File Storage:

  • Relative sizes of kilobytes, megabyes and gigabytes. Which ones are bigger?
  • A basic understanding of various storage medium, the advantages and disadvantages of each (floppy disks, zip disks, flash drive, CDs, hard drives)
